Declarations of Interest

Confusion Rules.

The Localism Act is quite clear on the declarations that should be made by members as to their pecuniary and non-pecuniary interests but the forms being produced by some district councils seem to see the requirements totally differently and we are confused.

Section 29 of the Localism Act is quite short and easily read and you can find it here.  http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2011/20/section/29/enacted

We have found a declaration form produced by Craven District Council which apears to comply full with the Act.

If anyone knows why there are such radically different forms being distributed by some district councils we’d like to know.
